I been trying to make a Halloween game for a couple of years now, this was kinda rushed and I could not go into detail on each story as I wanted to but it is done, this game was made under 48 hours on the span of 3 weeks.

Hopefully is at least a little bit enjoyable.

I finally finished it and here are my thoughts:

Gameplay: I like how you implemented different types of gameplay for each story. The puzzles in the second segment were enjoyable and not too challenging.

Graphics: you combined RTP with custom sprites. RTP tends to be frowned upon, and I'm certainly not a fan of RTP maps, but you managed to make it work for the most part. I'd suggest to make smaller rooms/interiors, though. Like, in the first story, the rooms are a bit too big and square. The room in the third story was the best designed interior.
Your custom sprites were really good!

Music: the music was pretty good and fitting, and I think I recognized a song from your channel that's pretty cool.

Story: ahh yes, the most important part!

Intro/ending story (the one with Moriko and the streamers): it was a good way to begin the game and connect the stories, and it had some funny moments.

First story: more depressing than scary, but pretty good story nonetheless. A bittersweet ending (and I liked the plot twist regarding the items)

Second story: kinda reminded me of the Saw films. Maybe some more interaction between the two characters, as well as more information about them, would have been nice (right before the traps begin). I liked the final twist (I thought they would be allowed to leave or they would get killed, but turns out the game was just beginning). Probably my least favorite story, but it's not bad.

Third story: definitely my favorite story, I loved it. Simple plot, simple gameplay, simple execution but it worked perfectly and it was truly horrifying. The ending was amazing. This is a great example of body horror.

Fourth story: I liked the premise, but I wasn't a fan of the final plot twist. I expected a more horrifying fate for the protagonist. Also, the mapping in this segment was probably the weakest of the entire game.

Overall: I think you did a great job. There aren't many horror anthologies made in Rpg Maker, and from what I understand, you made this in a small amount of time for Halloween and you managed to publish it for Halloween so that's awesome. There are obviously some aspects to consider for future games, such as mapping and final twists (mostly because of the twist of the fourth story), but still, it was a really fun experience and some of the stories actually have potential for standalone games (the third one is amazing!)

Oh how the tables have turned haha, thank you so much for playing the game and for leaving a comment.

I did tried my best with this game but I did not have enough time to properly work on it and it seems it's been so long since I actually developed a game that I forgot how to do  a lot of things (which just gives me a lot more respect for other devs) This games was originally 6 stories long not counting the main one, I had to scrap most of it and the only original story that remains is #3 all the other ones were kinda rushed in the last 2 days before Halloween.

I completely agree on the mapping/graphics I spend so much time trying to work with parallax and custom tiles that I had to discard; I am glad you liked the sprites since it was one of the only things I could actually work on for some amount of time.

The music was also done on the last day (last 3 hours actually), and I did reused one of the songs from the channel OST haha.

The stories...The first one ate most of my time but it was something I really wanted to include because it was a little bit personal even if it was not scary at all, it had more scary elements but I removed them because I felt I was making light of the situation and it felt bad somehow.

The second one was definitely SAW inspired  and it did had a lot of character deaths with CGs that I could not finish in time and ended up removing, along with all the interesting the story had to offer, there WAS an introductory scene for both characters before being locked up, this is perhaps the story I will give it's own game some time in the future.

The third story, it is also my favorite (There is a narrated version somewhere in my channel) and is one I been writing for years now it was part of a previous game I never finished  and I am happy I could finally tell it.

The fourth story....biggest mistake, It was my attempt at making the game a bit longer, originally each house took you to a different dimension to recover a candy but you could just refuse to go in, in the end a bully steals your candy and eats it with his friends and all of them turn into mutated monsters in pain right in front of your eyes (the "good" ending is skipping all the candy) but then again I had to scrap all of that and just make a long street for some reason, the VR game plotwist was some last second attempt at making sense of this mess.

In the end I did learned a lot from this and hopefully I can make a much better anthology next Halloween, for now I will try to learn how to properly map, work on tiles and all that stuff; Once again, thank you for taking your time to play it, it really means a lot.

Not bad, man. I enjoyed it. Third story creeped me out.

Here is my 5 minutes+ Gameplay:

This is kinda funny and refreshing horror story game. I love the way you put random name for the characters such as Sukari Sutori (Scary Story) and Hiro Shujinko which is literally the main character. Even the developer is inside the game to. Good job Hikiyami Moriko-san :-D. Good luck with your Hikkikomori time.

Just finished the game, and I liked it. I'm glad you were finally able to make a Halloween game as you wanted to.

I must say, the stories were a bit rushed, I feel like none of them lasted enough to sink in. Expecially the second one, I feel like there were alot of elements on John's side of the room that culminated in nothing (the 4 brothers riddle, the files, the 4 digits code). Maybe I just missed some crucial impossibly complex puzzle, I am not that epic of a gamer after all...

Overall, great way to end Halloween with, I liked it. The original art was neat, and the music fit very well. Please, try to take your time in any future projects, "rushing ruins the working" as we say. Take your time, and I'm sure you'll make something extraordinary.

I dunno how to end this comment so have a good rest of your day!

Thank you for playing, and for your comment, yeah I am not satisfied at all with the stories either, the second one was the most complex, it had a lot of puzzles and conversations that I had to scrap because otherwise it would have been only 2 stories, this is the one I also plan on making a full game of (maybe) in the future. The last one was just me trying to come up with something to make it 4 stories, it was a total mess.

The 4 brothers are an extra clue for the combination lock along with the phone in case people had trouble, the files are supposed to tie into the full version of the game so they are just like some extra information, I realize is just confusing having a room with information and nothing to do with it.

I rushed the music and CGs in the last 2 hours of development while I was giving candy to kids, it was a really nice (and stressing) Halloween experience; I will definitely take my time for the next project, I hate rushing but it felt nice to finish something for a change.

I need to learn how to properly do tiles...
